Yes — When Leadership Puts Law, Order, and Security First

Apalachin, NY — The Tioga County Republican Committee affirms that America is once again becoming safer under the leadership of President Donald J. Trump. The results of his Administration’s renewed policies demonstrate the importance of strong borders, respect for law enforcement, and an unwavering commitment to public safety.

Under President Trump, illegal border crossings have dropped dramatically, drug trafficking is being confronted aggressively, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has been re-empowered to remove violent offenders from our streets. Recent statistics show approximately 238,000 total apprehensions for fiscal year 2025 — a significant reduction from over 1.5 million in 2024. Illegal crossings are now at a 50-year low. Law enforcement officers are supported, not criticized, and the rule of law has once again become a cornerstone of national policy. These actions are directly contributing to safer neighborhoods and stronger communities across the nation.

There has also been a 17% decrease in homicides during the first half of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024. This year is on pace to record the lowest number of homicides since the 1960s. Of the more than 200,000 individuals deported this year, 752 had murder convictions and 1,693 were charged with sexual assault. The remainder included offenders guilty of robbery, assault, domestic violence, and gang activity — proof that the Administration is once again prioritizing the safety of American families.

Locally, Tioga County has always stood behind those same principles — accountability, responsibility, and respect for those who protect and serve. When our borders are secure, when police officers have the resources they need, and when our justice system upholds the law without apology, our residents and neighborhoods are safer.

The Trump Administration also recognizes that safety and prosperity go hand in hand. By cutting taxes, reducing unnecessary regulations, and restoring American manufacturing, our economy is rebounding, and family stability is returning.

The difference is clear: when leaders enforce the law, secure the border, and stand firmly with law enforcement, America becomes safer, stronger, and more prosperous. When those priorities are ignored, communities and families pay the price.
