From Candidate James Marzen:
“Our campaign for Town Supervisor in Newark Valley began under extraordinary circumstances, following the sudden passing of a leader who served our community for more than 25 years.
"We stepped forward with a write-in campaign—an uphill battle that required building awareness from the ground up through yard signs, pamphlets, door-to-door campaigning, Pennysaver ads, and strong support from the Tioga County Republican Party.
"That effort succeeded. The voters made their choice. Now, the outcome of this election rests in the courts.
"At stake is a fundamental principle: VOTER INTENT MUST COME FIRST. Even when a ballot contains a minor error, the will of the voter should never be discarded. Every voice matters, and every vote deserves to be counted.”

A Message from Donald Castellucci, Jr.
Chairman, Tioga County Republican Committee
As Chairman of the Tioga County Republican Committee, I have seen many campaigns over the years—but few as inspiring as Jim Marzen’s write-in victory in Newark Valley.
Jim ran a disciplined, grassroots campaign that energized voters and delivered a clear win at the ballot box—reclaiming a seat that had been out of Republican hands for 25 years. Unfortunately, that victory is now being challenged in court.
A small number of write-in ballots are under legal attack, and the margin is razor-thin. What should have been decided by voters is now being fought in a courtroom, and the outcome could hinge on just 14 ballots.
This fight is about more than one campaign—it is about protecting voter intent and the integrity of our democratic process. Legal battles are costly and time-sensitive, but they are necessary to ensure the will of the people is honored.
Your contribution today will help defend these votes and protect this historic victory.
